Psychologist- PTSD (New York, NY)

The Department of Psychiatry is seeking an experienced Research Scientist/Psychologist responsible for conducting structured psychodiagnostic interviews and cognitive testing with male and female veterans, active duty police officers, and civilians for several post traumatic stress disorder research studies, including a prospective study of PTSD in police officers, an Anxiety Reduction Treatment for Acute Trauma in civilians reporting to the Bellevue ER, and a multi-site Biomarkers study of PTSD in veterans.

Duties include
Obtain subject consent for study participation;
Administer assessment measures to subjects including psychodiagnostic interviews using the SCID and CAPS and neurocognitive testing (CVLT, WCST). Score, code and enter test results and psychodiagnostic data;
Instruct participants in the self-administration of take-home questionnaires;
Conduct the anxiety reduction intervention for patients presenting to the Bellevue ER following an accident or physical assault;
Assist with supervising per diem clinicians;
Attend weekly clinical supervision and calibration meetings;
Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
Ph.D., Psy.D., degree in clinical, counseling psychology or related field
1-2 years previous experience in structured diagnostic interviewing is highly desirable
Knowledge in DSM-IV diagnoses is required
Experience in PTSD assessment and diagnosis is required
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Experience working with veterans highly desirable
Must be highly organized, detail oriented, and reliable
NYS License preferred
